R4i Gold 3DS Driver Setup Guide

Steps :

1 . Format a MicroSD / SDHC Memory Card

There are three common ways to format a Memory Card :

• Using Windows XP/Vista/7 Format Tool
• Using Panasonic Memory Card Format Program
• Using Mac Memory Card Format Tool

Here, we just introduce the most common way - Using Window XP/Vista/7 Format Tool . As for the other two methods, you can click here for specific operation .

Using Windows XP/Vista/7 Format Tool

After inserting the microSD into the card reader, go to My Computer.

b) Right click the driver representing the microSD memory card.

c) Choose Format

d) Click Start to format the memory card in FAT32

2. R4i Gold Firmware Fix

• Firmware Fix for 3DS v2.0.0-2 - R4i Gold 3DS
• Firmware Fix for 3DS v2.0.0-2 - R4i Gold (Non-3DS)

If your N3DS console has already been upgraded to N3DS V2.0.0-2, you will need update your R4i Gold 3DS /R4i Gold (Non-3DS) with the 3DS V2.0.0-2 Patch .

Here, I will detail introduce the "Firmware Fix for 3DS v2.0.0-2 - R4i Gold 3DS" with some picture . about the other , I will just explain the Upgrading step by explanatory note

Firmware Fix for 3DS v2.0.0-2 - R4i Gold 3DS

Important: if you want to update you R4i SDHC 3DS on your 3DS console, please make sure that your DSi console is having a firmware version lower than V2.0.0-2. If your 3DS has been updated to version 2.0.0-2, you will need to use a DSi / DSi XL /DS Lite console to update your R4i Gold 3DS.

1.Download the latest WOOD R4 for R4i Gold (R4 Wood V1.33) and the upgrading patch ( 3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS )

2.unzip the Wood R4 V1.33 to the root directory of your TF card ,and then "3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS_NDSL.nds" to your TF card

what's in the the "3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS" folder ?

• For DSi (XL) : 3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS_NDSi.nds
• For DS Lite  : 3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS_NDSL.nds

3.Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the R4i Gold 3DS and insert the R4i Gold 3DS to the DSi console(V1.3). Press button "Power” to start upgard

4. Go to the bleow interface , choose "MicroSD Card" icon ,touch the icon or press "A" to go..

5. Choose the "3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS/", touch the icon or press "A" to go..

4.Select the firmware file by pressing A on the right hand side control pad.(our console is DSi v1.3 )

1. For DSi (XL) :3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS_NDSi.nds
2. For DS Lite :3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS_NDSL.nds

6.When you get the following screen, please read every word carefully before upgrading.

7.Please press button "A" to continue. Please leave the console alone in a flat place until the upgrade is done.

8.The following screen shows that the update has been completed. Congratulation! Power off the DSi Console.

9.Insert the R4i Gold 3DS into DSi XL V1.4.3 . The icon on the main menu has been changed to the following icon. The icon means you have upgraded the R4i Gold 3DS Firmware successfully.

Note:When upgrading the r4i 3DS card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out r4i 3DS,otherwise it will damage the r4i 3DS card.

 

Firmware Fix for 3DS v2.0.0-2 - R4i Gold (Non-3DS)

1. Download the latest WOOD R4 for R4ids gold from www.r4ids.cn and unzip it to the root directory of your TF card

2. Copy "3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_Non3DS_NDSL.nds" to your tf card

3. You should get a NDSL / NDS Phat, or NDSi/NDSi XL/3DS(under 2.0.0-2)

4. Just power your NDSL on and boot up "3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_Non3DS_NDSL.nds" ,Or Just power your NDSi on and boot up 3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_Non3DS_NDSi.nds

• For DSi (XL) :3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS_NDSi.nds
• For DS Lite :3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS_NDSL.nds

5. Attention:do not take out your R4ids Gold

6. Press KEY_A and the updating process will begin

7. You should keep your NDSL powered on during the updating process

8.If the result shows Success, it means you have updated your R4ids Gold with success and this card can work on 3DS 2.0.0-2

Note:When upgrading the r4i 3DS card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out r4i 3DS,otherwise it will damage the r4i 3DS card.

3. R4i Gold Card Setup Guide

Great News: the new R4i Gold 3DS can dirctly support the newest DSi V1.4.3 and 3DS V 2.1.0 Firmware successfully by simply installing the latest driver Wood R4i Gold V1.33 !

1. Download the R4i Gold Firmware - R4 Wood V1.33

2. Unzip the file downloaded aforementioned (using Winrar) on your PC

1. Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.

2. Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have ：

3.Select all the above four unzipped files and copy them to the microSD memory card

4.Copy the Mooshel2 , your own files, including music, movies, pictures and other data to the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.

5.You will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY message. Touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.

6.Congratulation if you have come this far as you have successfully set up your R4i Gold Card . Press buttom "A" to go

7.Wait for the R4i Gold 3DS to load.

8. Go to the below interface , choose "MicroSD Card"  and press button "A" to continue. Enjoy your DS with the multimedia functions.

9.Go to the below list

10.Touch "Game" icon to enjoy playing Games

11. Press buttom "power" to enter R4i Gold Main Menu, and then following the step 7 and step 8 , go to the below interface ,and choose "Moonshl2" to continue ...

12. Touch “Moonshl2.nds” to enter "Multimedia  list"

13. Touch "multimedia" icon ,and then choose "Music" choice to listen to music , choose " Picture" choice to view Pictures

14. If the screen is stuck with the "Loading" message, it is due to the wrong driver being used. Please check the Software Preparation at the top of this guide and re-do the software download & installation.
