R4i SDHC Driver Setup Guide

 

Steps :

1 . Format a MicroSD / SDHC Memory Card

There are three common ways to format a Memory Card :

• Using Windows XP/Vista/7 Format Tool
• Using Panasonic Memory Card Format Program
• Using Mac Memory Card Format Tool

Here, we just introduce the most common way - Using Window XP/Vista/7 Format Tool . As for the other two methods, you can click here for specific operation .

Using Windows XP/Vista/7 Format Tool

After inserting the microSD into the card reader, go to My Computer.

b) Right click the driver representing the microSD memory card.

c) Choose Format

d) Click Start to format the memory card in FAT32

Firmware Fixed

www.r4i-sdhc.com release the R4i SDHC V1.4.3 to compatible with DSi V1.4.3 E/U on 03-08-2011. meanwhile ,the R4i SDHC 3DS directly run on DSi V1.4.3 E/U with the lasted firmware ,No need to updat!!!

Firmware Fixed for DSi 1.4.3

Important: if you want to update you R4i SDHC V1.4.2 on your DSi console, please make sure that your DSi console is having a firmware version lower than 1.4.3. If your DSi has been updated to version 1.4.3, you will need to use a DS Lite console to update your R4i SDHC V1.4.2. Please take note, the firmware is different from the driver.

To Check Your DSi Firmware Version:

• Click SETTING (with the Tool Icon) on the main menu
• Check the right hand corner of the top screen which says VER 1.x

1. Make sure nds fully charged, better with external power pluged.

2. First, reformatting the SD, download the latest kernel R4i SDHC V1.43b English.

3. Unzip and copy the files( R4iMenu,moonshl2,moonmemo,r4.DAT ) to the root of MicroSD card.

4. Insert MicroSD card into r4i-sdhc 3ds card, insert r4i-sdhc 3ds card into nds\dsl\dsi\dsixl.

Note:When upgrading the r4i-sdhc card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out r4i- sdhc,otherwise it will damage the r4i-sdhc card

5. Please follow the steps here to setup your card.

Firmware Fixed for 3DS v 2.0.0

1. You can not upgrade N3DS Card with N3DS V2.0.0. If your N3DS console has already been upgraded to N3DS V2.0.0, you will need another NDSL or NDSi or N3DS(which should be under version V2.0.0) to upgrade your 3DS flash card.

2. make sure nds fully charged, better with external power pluged.

3. First, reformatting the SD, download the latest kernel R4i-3DS V1.40b English

4. Unzip and copy the files( R4iMenu,moonshl2,moonmemo,r4.DAT ) to the root of MicroSD card.

5. Download the latest upgrading programs UpdateV2.0.0. Unzip and copy the file( fwupv20a.nds ) to the root of MicroSD card.

6. Insert MicroSD card into r4i 3DS card, insert 3DS card into nds \ dsl \ dsi \ dsixl \ 3DS.

7. Turn on console and press "A" button to run the upgrade file fwupv20a.nds.

Note:When upgrading the r4i 3DS card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out r4i 3DS,otherwise it will damage the r4i 3DS card.

R4i SDHC Card Setup Guide

1. Unzip the file downloaded aforementioned (using Winrar) on your PC

• Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
• Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have ：

2. Select all the above four unzipped files and copy them to the microSD memory card

3. Copy your own files, including music, movies, pictures and other data to the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.

4. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the R4i SDHC. Insert the R4i SDHC with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.

5. You will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY message.  Touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.

6. For R4i SDHC 3DS or R4i SDHC V1.4.2, you will see the different following icon on DSi XL . Please touch the icon or press button A to continue.

• R4i SDHC 3DS ,The following icon name "Chessmaster Ubisoft Entertainment"
• R4i SDHC V1.4.2 , The following icon name "SpongeBob’s Atlantis Squarepantis THQ"

7. Wait for the R4i SDHC 3DS to load.

8. Congratulation if you have come this far as you have successfully set up your R4i SDHC 3DS / R4i SDHC V1.4.2. There you go. Enjoy your DS with the multimedia functions.

9. Touch the "Game " icon and go to the Game list ,chose the game to enjoy palying..

10. Touch the "  " icon and go to the Medium Menu ,chose the 'Music' or "picture" icon to listen to music and view pictures

11. If the screen is stuck with the ‘Loading’ message, it is due to the wrong driver being used. Please check the Software Preparation at the top of this guide and re-do the software download & installation.
